BOSSYPANTS-TINA FEY REVIEW

It is officially 10:54 pm and I am pretty sure that my neighbors must hate me for the amount of laughter coming out of my apartment.

Tina Fey’s memoir, Bossypants is exactly as dry, witty, and ultimately realistic as you would expect it to be.

This book is really hard to describe, it’s traditional in the way that we  get to find out more about Tina Fey’s life, from her origins as a child with the scar on her cheek where she first heard she was “bossy”, to her misadventures as a young adult, and then finally to where she is now, as a slightly more responsible adult who has an actual job and an actual career.

It’s not as laugh out loud funny as we have come to expect from the performing Tina Fey that we know, but it is definitely hilarious in its use of dry humor and just genuine snark that makes up Tina Fey, with some actually good life advice and bits of wisdom that come from that real world experience most of us are attempting to ignore until we absolutely have to. 

Overall this book was a decent read, entertaining enough to pass the time and interesting enough to make me want and go back to see some shining Tina Fey moments (Sarah Palin, anyone?).
