CUCKOO’S CALLING-ROBERT GALBRAITH REVIEW

HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY EVERYONE!!

Otherwise known as Single’s Awareness day!!! Yay!!

I spent this Valentine’s Day finishing the bookΒ The Cuckoo’s Calling by Robert Galbraith, a pen name for J.K Rowling.

Cormoran Strike is a retired military policeman who has become a private detective. He is approached by a client who’s famous, supermodel sister’s death has been classified as a suicide. He, along with other family members and friends, believe there is foul play. Strike along with his new assistant Robin must solve this case, before the murderer continues theirΒ rampage.

This was my first non Harry Potter related book that I’ve read by Rowling, and I have to say that it was an experience just as fantastic and wonderful as when I first jumped in to the Harry Potter series.

Strike is an unattractive, bear of a man who we find is highly intelligent and street smart. He is capable of deducting clues about people and certain instances in a way that is Holmes-esque, but much savvier.

I absolutely loved this book, and can’t wait to read more of the series!
