AMERICAN GODS-NEIL GAIMAN REVIEW

I was actually really disappointed by this book?

I love Neil Gaiman, he’s one of my absolute favorite authors, but this book just took me SUCH a long time to finish.

The premise of this book is based off the idea that gods and other mythological creatures exist in America as long as people believe in them.

The main character, a man named Shadow who is recently released from prison due to the death of his wife and best friend. On his way home to their funeral, he meets a man named Wednesday, who later turns out to be one of the Old Gods, and many of his associates.

It turns out there is a war brewing, between the Old and New Gods, and Shadow is stuck in the middle of them.

I enjoyed the last two hundred pages. The plot is complex, and twisted, and very, very slow. It took me so long to get in to it, and it was just a hard time staying interested.
