Plenty of people make silly mistakes the first couple of times they begin traveling.
Here’s a three common one’s that I’ve noticed during my time traveling, that you can avoid making.

1. Not having safe places for important documents
When I see newbie travelers who carry around all their important documents and other items in separate places, my heart breaks a little bit. The most important thing is keeping your documents in one place, and then making sure that that place is safe!
A traveler’s wallet, something that you keep close to your person, is the best thing to keep everything in. Find one that will fit your passport, money, visas, all of that and keep it on your person, somewhere hidden, at all times.
2. Not having travel sized items.
Soap. Shampoo. Towels. Snacks. All of these things that normally take up way too much room in your luggage or carry on? Are also available in tiny, travel sized packages.
What a wonderful world we live in. People should use this option more. It makes traveling so much more convenient.
3. Inappropriate Clothing
Now, I don’t mean this in the “dress code” kind of way (although, if you are visiting a country where cultural differences extend to clothing, then it would be a good idea to at least try to adapt to those differences), I mean this in a Not-Doing-Research-On-Weather sort of why.
Just because it’s England, doesn’t mean it’s cold constantly. Just because it’s San Diego, doesn’t mean it’s always beach weather.
A little research can go a long way, especially when it comes to weather and what to pack.
